Hey Kari and everyone,

I wanted to share how Bruno has transformed our lives! A decade ago, I adopted my American Bulldog, Scully, who was full of love despite his challenges. Now, with two young kids, we adopted Bruno from Ace of Hearts, and he has been an angel! The kids adore him, and he’s calm and protective, waiting for my son after school.

Bruno offers unconditional love, stays with the kids until they sleep, and they even argue over who gets to keep him at night. We are so grateful for him and will continue to love him as he loves us!

Thank you for everything you do!

Love,

Emily, Frank, Dylan, Sienna & Bruno

Dear Friends at Ace of Hearts,

We're sharing some pictures of Abby, formerly known as Leche. She’s an incredible dog with no trouble at all. From the photos, you can see her first day at work was quite a challenge, filled with many naps. She's truly special and has touched our hearts in the most amazing way.

Everyone at the rescue has been fantastic, from Kari to the entire team. The follow-up support has been excellent.

Her vet, Dr. Specs, fell in love with her instantly. She had a thorough check-up, including full blood work, and everything is perfect.

We want to express our deepest gratitude for letting us welcome such a wonderful dog into our lives. She goes everywhere with us and will never be left home alone again.

Best regards,

Debbie and Ted

Caroline Rose shares her heartfelt story about Riley, the dog she adopted from Ace of Hearts ten years ago. After surviving stage 4 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, she found solace and purpose in caring for Riley, who needed rehabilitation after being rescued from abuse. Their bond grew as they overcame challenges together, and Riley became her emotional support and a beloved member of her family. Caroline expresses gratitude for the life-changing impact Riley has had on her, emphasizing the mutual healing they provided each other. She acknowledges the vital work of Kari and Ace of Hearts in saving dogs and changing lives, highlighting the profound connection between humans and their canine companions.

Hi Kari!

Thanks so much for posting! I just wanted to express my gratitude for introducing me to my dear Mina (formerly Milla). Choosing her was one of the best decisions of my life, and I can’t imagine my days without her! She's a cuddle enthusiast, has no enemies (unless a pesky possum dares to invade our backyard), and is always eager to please. My husband, a self-declared "cat person," can't leave the house without giving her a good ear rub, and sometimes he even greets her before me when he returns from work!

I've attached some pictures below. When I first brought her home, she was just 55 lbs, but now she’s a robust 105 lbs and ALL MUSCLE!

Thanks again and again!

Much love,
Andrea, Cornel, and Mina

Elliot recently participated in the 2011 Huntington Beach Surf Dog Competition and snagged 4th place in his heat. The photos and articles I’ve included might inspire others to consider rescuing and supporting the Bulldog breed. I’d love to hear your thoughts. I'm incredibly proud of him and feel truly blessed to have him in my life. Thank you, Carol.

Tulip joined our family through Ace of Hearts just over a week ago, and from the start, she's been an ideal fit. At a little over a year old, she's shown her maturity by moving shoes instead of chewing them—a true lady. After losing our older dog, Etzo, this year, our remaining rescue, Paco (all the way from ROMANIA!), has warmly embraced her presence.

Rescued from a high-kill shelter in Kern County, Tulip was lovingly fostered through Ace right here in Echo Park. She has effortlessly adapted to our routines, relishing time in our spacious yard, enjoying long walks in local parks, and savoring weekends on desert nature trails. Although she's still a bit hesitant to use the pet door on her own, we’re confident she’ll get the hang of it soon.

A heartfelt thanks to the amazing team at Ace of Hearts for making our hearts race with joy!

—Tony, Dan & Paco

The Ace of Hearts is a nonprofit dog rescue organization committed to saving dogs from various Los Angeles shelters on the very day they are scheduled for euthanasia, and finding them loving homes. Our mission is focused solely on rescuing dogs from shelters; we do not accept dogs from other sources.
