   We are a 501c-3 dog rescue foundation dedicated to rescuing dogs, the day they are to be euthanized, from various Los Angeles shelters and placing them in loving homes. We do NOT take dogs in ... we rescue only from shelters. The Ace of Hearts Foundation is in memory of "Ace", a wonderful American Bull dog who was rescued from death, and touched the lives of many! (Especially founder Kari Whitman!) We rescue all breeds...and don't discriminate against any!

In the greater Los Angeles County shelters alone an average of 475 pets are euthanized daily. There just aren't enough homes for them all. Our goal is to help provide animals a second chance to a happy life and to help reduce pet overpopulation. We save dogs in need and provide them with care and foster homes while they await adoption. We carefully match these pets to new loving and responsible owners. We also try to educate the public on how to be responsible pet owners and on the importance of spaying and neutering. We believe the real solution to pet overpopulation is through spaying and neutering pets. And if you think its ok to breed your little "Fluffy" because she's a purebred, please be aware that over 25% of the animals at shelters are purebreds.

Our adoption days are normally held every Saturday at Pet Co. in West Hollywood at 508 N. Doheny on the south East corner of Doheny and Santa Monica Blvd. from 1 to 4 pm.

The following are the dates for our adoptions through the month of June:

April: 5th, 19th, 26th

May: 10th, 17th, 31st

June: 14th, 28th

July: 12th, 19th

August: 2nd, 9th, 23rd

September: 6th, 13th, 27th

October: 4th, 18th, 25th

November: 8th, 15th, 22nd

December: 6th, 20th

We do show dogs on the weekends that we are not at Petco, after the interested party has filled out the online application (by appointment only).
IMPORTANT - because our schedule is subject to change, please email us if you have any questions, and we can fax you the current schedule and info.

NIKITA Needs Immediate Medical Help!! Nikita is a sweet one-year-old girl whose skin is in horrible shape. She is probably a Rottweiler mix, but in her condition it's impossible to know for sure. She was just rescued and is going to need a great deal of care and attention - please donate what you can!

Maggie suffers from severe chemical burns along her back. We don't know who did this to her, but Maggie - who is only a year old - is still a trusting, loving, friendly girl. She has just been rescued from the shelter and needs medical care to treat her horrific wounds.
